Got sick today & had to come home

By Ab Flyer | Jan 31, 2010

I learned that at 12:00 pm and in the evening around 5-6 pm, my band is extremely tight and will reject almost every type of meat. Getting sick and throwing up is horriable. I love to eat certain foods and I feel so bad when I can eat them. Dito. Melanie…
About how many times have you thrown up since your surgery?

There is protein in pretty much anything that you eat and believe it or not we don’t need that much protein on a daily basis in order to function properly and to keep our muscle mass constant. 47% of broccoli is protein. The only problem is Broccoli doesn’t taste anywhere near as good as meat.

For me the tightness can fluxuate from day to day. There are day when I was at a 6.6 cc fill where I could eat well and other days that I had more restriction. More days of non-restriction then restriction. Just take this time out to learn what you can and cannot do.

Wow that’s too bad, the foaming and all. Are you going to get an unfill? My dr always warns me that vomitting can cause your band to slip which can be a problem. We definitely wouldn’t want that to happen to you. You’ve been doin so well. I have never had a foaming experience and i hope i never do;sounds awful. Good to see your doin fairly well. Gosh i can’t wait to reach my goal. Take care. Btw i love that shirt. Where’d you get it?

My boyfriend shares the same bday as you! How cool is that!?! He’s going to be 31 this year. Do you think that you need an unfill, just a slight one? to help with the foaming? i have never had 40 minutes of it or need to leave work. something to think about! thank you for the shout out. you are kind! great work on getting the ab workouts in progress. i look forward to hearing how you like the abpro thing. if it works for you, i might have to try it too! You look lovely today btw.

i think your doing a good job!!! keep up the good work!!

  19. SheSingsLovely January 31, 2010 2:25 pm

would you consider getting an unfill?? Cause girl I would miss my meat lol!!!! Are you going to try to get back to a size 7/8?? I think you and other people may see you as too skinny because you used to be heavier. Typically if they always knew you at a size 4 then you wouldn’t think you were too skinny & neither would they. There is nothing wrong going back to the weight you were most comfortable at (175 lbs). At least that means, u can probably treat yourself more, since you won’t be foaming

  20. Sandy77 January 31, 2010 3:20 pm

So sorry you were sick today sounds like you do need an unfil. You have stuck with this for a month. Hope you feel better soon

  21. JennBand08 January 31, 2010 4:08 pm

Personally, if I couldn’t eat meat, I’d get a slight unfill. But everyone is different in the level of restriction they are comfortable with. You do look great, but if you felt comfortable being in 7/8’s then there is no harm going back

You should definitely get an unfill, I get stuck episodes sometimes with meat and bread, but they only last for a few mins and i’ve yet to vomit. I’m at 4cc, and have lost 30 lbs so far, got banded in June. Currently though I’m working out at least 5 days a week and only eat around 1000 calories/day and I’m only losing 1 lb a week, so that’s really annoying.
