I always put tension in my neck during my ab workout and it gets really sore. Anyone got tips on how to stop the tension?

you might have to do a different exercise so your neck doesn’t get so sore. have you tried using different machines to see if it is any better?

Try using a ball. The way you lay on it for crunches reduces neck tension.

not sure what specific workout your doing. if you’re repeatidly doing crunches then you may need to support your head with hands. don’t use your hands to pull your head and body up, just use it to support the weight of your head and take the tension off your neck

Instead of moving your torso upward, try lying with your back flat against the ground and lift up your legs. This does a few things: You don’t harm your neck. Plus, you even work your lower abs which is very difficult to work, and makes it look even more impressive.

Use only your abs. You are probably doing it wrong.

That’s pretty common for your neck to hurt. Try looking towards the ceiling more or re-positioning your head so there is less pressure on your neck. If your neck isn’t relaxed during your workout, you could end up building lots of neck muscles than you meant to and have a bulgy neck.

Do reverse crunches instead of regulars once. Seems you’re pulling to much on your neck to get them extra reps and straining it more then you should.
