
I’m 12, 5″2 and weigh 104lbs. Before my diet that I am still on I used to be 124lbs (I know disgusting.) I’d like to know the weight range for a 12 year old (that is currently in 7th grade.) I just wanted to know so I can make a goal for myself because I thought being 94-100lbs is healthy for my age. Oh and I also may have some extra weight because recently I notice when I was doing an exercise with the exercise ball, I had upper ab muscles. But I don’t have slender sides. I do have love-handles but not big ones that sag over your jeans, mine are a little hard to poke. But anyways…
What’s the average weight for a 12 year old girl, in seventh grade and weight 5″2′??

Girl stop it! You are still growing! Do you know that if you keep the same weigh and grow with your height you will be skinnier. And for the love handles, at puberty your waist enlarges to give you a sort of coke bottle form. Don’t stress it will be fine. Let me tell you something. I’m 13, 5′8 and 168 Lb. You would think I’m fat but in fact I’m not, I’m slender . Don’t care about the weight but maybe the look. Is your body pretty?
You are at a perfect weight!!! i am 12 too, and when i tryed to lose a “little” weight, i became anorexic. STAY WHERE YOU ARE!! stay stong
You BMI (Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women.) is 19 which is on the low end of the scale for healthy (Normal BMI = 18.5-24.9) You are on the low end of what is considered a normal weight. You should not lose any more weight. If you do, you can get very sick. Be careful losing so much weight. What is important is that you feel well and have energy and strength to do the things you want to. Being active and exercising is great but make sure you are giving your body all that it needs to function properly.
BTW – 124lbs would be a BMI of 22.7 which is healthy, not “disgusting”.
I would say 110lbs . Go to the library and get some books to read about anorexia nervosa. It is not about weight but about feeling out of control in your life and feeling that food is the only thing you can control.
For female teens about your age and height and weight, you should weigh between 83-122 lbs. so you are perfect. Guys usually do not really care for stick thin girls. They like them a little shapely with meat on their bones. If you do not like the appearance of your love handles, try to wear jeans that fit higher on the waist. That way, your jeans will cover them and they will not bulge out. I noticed that about a lot of young girls today. They are wearing those low rider jeans that do not flatter their shape. You really don’t need to lose any weight, but it’s good to exercise for your health.
